Jim Schaff
Jim Schaff is an expert at branding and marketing technology products and companies. In his nearly twenty years of experience Jim has worn just about every hat there is to wear in the realm of Marketing, from launching products like the Snap Server and Drobo, the world’s first storage robot, to developing advertising campaigns for Electronic Arts and Hewlett Packard.
Most recently, he worked as Data Robotic’s company evangelist and spokesperson creating messaging strategies and positioning the company and brand platform of Drobo. Jim helped build enough interest in Drobo generating nearly 500K page views to their Web site for the first three months of its launch (for a storage company no less!). At BlueArc, Jim directed global marketing and helped the company launch in North America and Europe to become the world’s 3rd largest enterprise NAS company, behind only NetApp ($8B) and EMC ($26B).
A Bay Area native, Jim happily admits that he would rather be diving ship wrecks in the Caribbean or planning his next dive. Out of the water you’ll find Jim hanging with his Australian Shepherd, Pepper, or getting laryngitis, again, at a Sharks game.
